about me

I’ve been around the block a couple of times. I’ve been a medic in the military, a counselor in the Psychiatric/Security unit of a prison for women, and a private investigator specializing in criminal defense. I’ve picked up a few degrees and taught various courses in criminology and sociology at The American University in Washington, D.C. and at Fordham University in New York City. Now I’m primarily a writer and photographer.

I’m the managing editor of Utata.org–an international collective of photographers engaged in a variety of ongoing projects. I teach advanced workshops in Mystery Writing for the Gotham Writers’ Workshop.

Like I said, I’ve been around the block a couple of times. It’s a good block; I expect I’ll keep going around it for a while.

  2. Hello Greg. I’m familiar with your work as editor at Utata and was wondering what Erevan happened to Sunday Salon? Also is Catherine Jamison still around?

    Thanks much,
    Dominic

    • Hey Dominic. The Sunday Salons are pretty time-consuming; there’s a lot of research to be done, in addition to the writing itself. I just haven’t had (or been willing to devote) the time to do them recently.

Catherine sort of disappeared from view when she moved to Nova Scotia. She hasn’t been involved in Utata for three or four years now. I’m assuming she’s doing something creative and interesting and some day we’ll hear from her again.

  3. Thanks for the info Greg. I remember at one time Catherine had some health issues. Very happy to hear she is well and just took a vacation from Flickr and Utata.

    Cheers,
    Dominic
